Ship, cabin, crew outstanding - excellent cuisine and service in the restaurant. We really enjoyed the time and encourage you to do 2N/3D. Especially our guide Danny tried to make all feel perfect - although the group was very diverse and not easy to please.
The outdoor activities were not too exhausting, the cycling tour as well as the excursion to the cave and kayaking were easy to complete.

Maybe a tea tasting or a different activity would diversify the experience a bit from the other tour operators?

We would also recommend to start the breakfast and tours a bit later as it is not everyone’s cup of tea to start the day at 0730😎

My partner and I did the 3 day/2 night Classic Cruise and wow - it was incredible, I couldn't recommend this experience highly enough. The most beautiful views aboard the ship and stunning green waters, we enjoyed kayaking, swimming, cycling, exploring caves and many more activities. The staff were so attentive to our needs, especially Rum who always ensured I had enough water. Martin was also a standout - so friendly, and our tour manager Emmanuel was very helpful and guided our group through each of the activities. If you are thinking of doing a boat tour of Ha Long Bay, you need to go with Orchid Cruises.

My girlfriend and I booked a cruise with Orchid Trendy but was upgraded to Orchid Classic since the Trendy was already fully booked. We travelled with our 7 months old son so we were quite excited on how the cruise would be for him. It turned out to be a big success both for us as parents and for him.
We had a spacious room with a baby crip, a nice double bed and a bath tub with the most amazing view of the Bay. The crew were so friendly and so nice in helping us with the baby. The crew member Smile went out of his way to help and prepared a traditional Vietnamese rice porridge for our son for dinner and while we were having dinner he offered to hold our son so that we could eat. In the morning when my girl friend was staying in our room with our sleeping baby Smile prepared a plate of breakfast for her to enjoy in our room.
All in all it was an amazing experience! I will recommend Orchid Cruises to everyone visiting Ha Long Bay and especially to people with babies!

We sailed aboard the Classic 2 on Orchid cruises in halong bay and it was amazing! The service was unbelievable. The employees made sure we had everything we needed at all times. Everyone is so friendly. Cruising with Orchid was definitely the highlight of our trip to Vietnam so far! We really enjoyed getting to know the employees. Green, Smile, James, Daniel, David, Nelo, and Tien were absolutely amazing and deserve top notch reviews for their service. They always had a smile on their face and they truly are what made this cruise so spectacular. We opted for the 3 day cruise with stops at Cat Ba National park as well as cycling through Viet Hai Village. What a fun experience that was! We also got to kayak off the boat to some some beaches near by. If you want excellent service during your cruise on halong bay, absolutely book with Orchid cruises! We loved the beautiful scenery. The vistas of Ha Long Bay are unmatchable, and the cruise ship seemed to do a fine job of winding us through a particularly photogenic route. There were a lot of other cruise ships doing the same thing around us, but I guess that's to be expected for such a popular spot.

The cabins were pretty luxurious when one considers the constraints of being on a boat. (I mean, a freestanding bathtub in your boat cabin, wow!) And the deckside perks were also very nice, including a bar, a jacuzzi, and plentiful deck lounge chairs was also nice. Sadly, the jacuzzi is not heated, which would have been very welcome on such a chilly day. They also offered sunrise tai chi, which was very peaceful and enjoyable.

The food was plentiful and there was decent selection (again, considering the constraints of a boat), although the quality was less delicious than even a midrange sidewalk noodle stand on your average landside street cafe.

Very well oiled system. Timelines were very well adhered too and there was never any waiting. Itinerary was quite well planned and we had a variety of experiences from exploring natural beauty, going to villages, and having some physical activity. While food could have been better (quite toned down on spice and not the typical Vietnamese food we were hoping for), the staff were excellent. Rooms were spacious and had good amenities. Hot water and a bath tub were unexpected. Lisa was a very attentive staff member who looked after us and Lily was a great manager who was very funny

I had a wonderful time on my cruise! I chose the 3 day and 2 night tour and I would recommend the longer stay as it is closer to 2 days and 2 nights with travel included.
The rooms are beautiful, the schedule is full and varied and the food is wonderful. The staff were sure to ask if there were any dietary requirements and preferences and were happy to accommodate.
The staff were friendly and kind. Sunny, Tim and Noi were especially lovely and had great English. On our day trip Henry was so lovely and kind also. All other staff were so kind and lovely and made us feel so welcome with their body language and smiles.
I would highly recommend this tour!

Our 2 day/night tour on Orchid Cruises through Ha Long Bay was an experience. The limestone islands are beautiful. The staff on Orchid Cruises were friendly and hard working. Unfortunately, the majority of the tour was terrible. Other than the brunch buffet, lunch and dinner were disgusting set meals. An attempt at fine dining gone horribly wrong. We often didn't know what we were eating. Even the vegetarian options were gross. It was the worst food we've ever had. More options for food are definitely needed, or at least a menu should be provided in advance of booking. At least there was beer to pass the time, but guests couldn't order glasses of wine, bottles only. And for those who don't drink, coke and sprite were the only non alcoholic options. Only 3 activities were planned for the entire 2 days. We spent most of the tour sitting around. An 8 hour day included over 6 hours of sitting around, transitting on various other boats and less than 2 hours of activity. Though we did enjoy the bike ride through Viet Hai, it was only an hour. When we finally were allowed to kayak and swim, we were limited to 1 hr. We also didn't learn much about the environment - 2 days on the cruise and maybe 30min of history/information were provided. Our room was nice and clean, but were were subject to noisy service boats pulling up next to our suite for several hours at a time. At the end, we were asked to fill out a comment card for feedback. We provided honest feedback about our experience only to be confronted by the host in front of the other guests and staff. He pressured us to fill out a new card stating that he would "get in trouble" if we left a poor review. This behaviour was inappropriate and unprofessional. We were relieved when the cruise was over and could hardly wait to get off the boat. The other guests felt the same. I would not recommend Orchid Cruises to anyone. It would be better to charter your own boat through Ha Long Bay.

We had a lovely 2 night 3 day cruise on Orchid Cruises, Orchid Trendy to be specific. This cruise actually turned out to be the highlight of our 9 day trip through Vietnam and Singapore and my 11 year old boys did not want the cruise to end!

The operation runs super smoothly, from check-in, to activities, to food service. The staff, especially our cruise director Nhung, made all the guests feel extremely welcome. There was a mix of activities offered, we actually partook in all the activities since our boys are very active and always up for an adventure. We participated in a cave expedition, cooking class, Tai Chi class, kayaking and bike ride through the lovely countryside, The cruise is offered for one night or two, in my opinion one night would not be enough. The rest of our trip was jam packed with activities while visiting Hanoi and Hoi An and having the two days on this cruise sandwiched in between really made for a nice change of pace.

The food on the boat was excellent. A huge variety of dishes for all meals were offered and the quality was excellent. Our server, Lisa, was extremely attentive and really gave us the royal treatment at every meal. The cocktails were also delicious, I am still dreaming of the passion fruit mojitos!

The rooms were spacious and lovely and the huge windows looking out onto the scenery is something truly special.

I highly recommend a trip to Halong Bay and with a myriad of cruise ships to choose from you cannot go wrong with Orchid Cruises.

We are a family of three spending our vacation in Vietnam. We were aboard the Orchid 4669 cruise and were impressed by the good service of all the crew. The manager Trang was always attentive, checking that everything ran according to plan, and ready to explain the itinerary of each day. Jimmy made us a delicious iced coffee and was always kind and Thong was our wonderful guide on our second day visit to the village. Food was elaborate and abundant. Beds were very comfortable and rooms spacious. All in all, very pleasant two days cruise.
